Hi, I am Maria, Italian freelance illustrator and writer. I like to create characters that form freely in my head and to use them to tell others about me.
I love fantasy and the supernatural, animals and nature. I also like to create simple graphics and infographics, despite me never studying it in school.
Just like I enjoy playing with websites and similar things; it’s another instrument to communicate with others in different ways.
My blog posts may be both in italian and english depending on my mood.
WHY DO I DO IT?
- Showing others something I like, I like to do, or that was inside my head. If I didn’t want to show it to others, I would probably be happy enough with what I have in my imagination sometimes… I do it to entertain others
- I do it for a deep need of showing and sharing parts of myself with the world, sometimes maybe looking for approval from others, where mine (for myself) is lacking.
- Teaching something to others, sharing with them what I know makes me feel satisfied and serene. It gives me a purpose.
- Because I need to create things. Anything. When I can’t or I don’t do it, I don’t feel well, almost guilty towards myself. It feels like something is missing.
WHAT’S THE PURPOSE?
I want to produce in the audience a sense of relatability and trust. Calmness with a hint of curiosity. Sometimes a bit of kink, and fun.
